Welcome to the Warehouse Market & Bakery. We hope you’ll make yourself at home.
Our store officially opened December 2017, and we have been pleasantly busy ever since. The store’s name hails back to the 1970s when the building was built as part of Escambia Farm & Seed. The location was a hub for local farmers for several decades until Hurricane Ivan damaged the grain bins beyond repair. They were torn down, but “The Warehouse” remained. After years of neglect and abandonment, one of the original business owners purchased the building back, and modifications were made for his daughter to use it for her store. If you look closely, you can still see the old forklift paths on the floor beneath the sealant or the industrial scale used to weigh loaded grain trucks “back in the day.”
The inspiration for our product selection comes from Amish-style bulk food stores located in states such as Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Illinois. We offer goods ranging from traditional grocery items to more obscure snack foods and health products. Our deli features custom-sliced meat and cheese options, and our bakers prepare fresh cinnamon rolls, pretzels and bread each morning. We also carry a unique selection of crafted and novelty items from local vendors, such as soaps, aprons, and jewelry.
We are a family-owned business (the whole family is often at the store on any given day!), and strive to make our store as family-friendly as possible. We hope you’ll feel at home as you browse our store with a complimentary cup of coffee. Our employees are happy to help with any questions you may have. We have a few booths inside, as well as picnic tables outside, and we welcome our community and guests – whether you’re enjoying our products, or simply passing the time. Guest WiFi is available.
Come and see us soon! The coffee is free and the smiles are genuine.
